Full Job Description
Job Summary: The role of the Geologist (Reservoir) is to
evaluate key aspects related to geological reservoir interpretation of
fields under development and production. From sequence stratigraphy,
reservoir quality, and other parameters that may affect the ability to
develop and produce hydrocarbons from a reservoir. He/she will also
support the regulation and monitoring of data acquisition, analysis,
and recommendation of the most appropriate methods and technologies
for maximizing the recovery of hydrocarbons from the reservoir. He/she
reports to the Senior Geologist.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the evaluation of petroleum resources and
production profiles to ensure optimal recovery of hydrocarbons and
prudent petroleum reservoir management.
- Support the
evaluation of oil and gas fields for purposes of quantifying oil and
gas resources and reserves.
- Participate in the
undertaking of internal technical subsurface studies that improve the
understanding of petroleum reservoirs to aid in the monitoring and
regulating of oil and gas field development strategies.
- Support the regulation and monitoring of subsurface data acquisition
and interpretation for oil and gas fields to improve and optimize the
field development strategies.
- Contribute to the
evaluation of work programs and budgets from Licensees related to
geo-science/subsurface aspects
- Undertake research and
technical studies on the best technologies to improve the subsurface
understanding as well as the optimal development of oil and gas
fields.
- Assist in the evaluation of Field Development
Plans, Reservoir Management Plans, Petroleum Reservoir Reports (and
attendant models), and other technical studies from Licensees.
- Evaluate the technical software requirements of the
subsurface requirements and advise on the adequacy and needs.
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned from time to
time.
Requirements
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree
in Geology or Petroleum Geo sciences from an internationally
recognized university.
- At least one (1) year of
experience in the oil and gas sector working in a reputable
organization.
- Software skills such as; Petrel Suites,
ArcGIS, Techlog
- Analytical skills,
- Innovative
- High level of integrity
- Communication and report writing skills
- Interpersonal
skills.
