About This Job:

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Power Manager Planning and Optimization to work in Kampala Uganda.

Job Summary

The Power Manager Planning and Optimization is responsible for planning, including preparation of annual Power budgets, producing periodic forecasts covering profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow while ensuring implementing budget plans and ensuring cost-effective measures are followed. He/she is also responsible for gathering pre & post implementation data and the analysis thereof to ensure recommended power solutions are commercially viable and sustainable in the short, medium and long-term.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take lead on High-Level PaaS plans and/or Initiatives from the Regional Power Pillar Team and translate them into an in-Market specific and actionable plan, considering the market-specific yet evolving/dynamic realities (Network Setup/Installed base, Customer Loads, MLAs and Market specific limitations or constraints, etc.)
  • Planning for Power-as-a-Service (PaaS) function (Forecasting, Budgeting, Projects Mgt follow-up, post-implementation monitoring, Performance and Reporting) – away from the day-to-day whirlwind of technical Day-to-Day Technical Support to the Operations
  • Planning for Technology and Technical Solutions to support Power efficiencies and growth of PaaS Focus on PaaS Monitoring, Performance and Reporting (Power Margins, CSF, etc.)
  • Support the Day-to-Day Technical Operations team with insights based on analysis above and provide direction/guidance based on the findings from the same – in close working relationship with Regional Power Pillar Team
  • Liaison with and provide Techno-Commercial support and/or input to the Business with regards to PaaS including Power-as-a-Business Negotiations and Offerings, etc
  • Review previous year Project Performance and impact to Power CSFs and Power Margin, correlate improvement areas for to meet the year’s Targets,
  • Review of Annual Power critical success factors (CSFs) and Power Margin Targets/Commitments plus all related Power Pillar (PaaS) initiatives from Regional Team and Translating them into an InMarket Specific Actionable Plan
  • Identifying the priority sites for new energy efficiency initiative from among the universe from each Portfolio .
  • Coordinating the Internal Formal Approvals right from PRFs to POs, with the Projects Section to formulate the whole deliverable into a Project and all related aspects .
  • Participate in the review of the planned Customer MLA Contracts Amalgamation discussions from a PaaS perspective and ensure that any current short-falls within the MLA or Operations are addressed within the new revised version and ensure that Revenues and Power Margins are preserved or better still improved upon along the life-time of the revised MLA .
  • Act as a Liaison with and provide Techno-Commercial support and/or input to the Business with regards to PaaS including Power-as-a-Business Negotiations and Offerings, etc.

:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Power Systems, Energy Engineering or equivalent),
  • 3+ years relevant experience in the Telecommunications or Energy industry,
  • 2+ years’ experience working on power solutions for telecommunications is desired. Experience working with remote-monitoring-systems.
  • Expertise in contract drafting, negotiation and finalisation
  • Strategic and Commercial orientation,
  • Advanced presentations skills,
  • Extensive knowledge of power systems technologies,
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Analytical ability to determine user problems and recommend solutions.
  • Proven knowledge and ability to analyse and solve complex logical problems
  • Ability to manage projects, ensuring that projects are clearly defined, systematically executed, and results oriented.
  • Current working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system software.
  • Must be highly numerate and analytical.
  • Must have good presentation skills and result oriented.
