**Maintenance - Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Technician Intern**
The Maintenance Intern receives technical training and acquires skills necessary to ensure that their assigned equipment is maintained as per Business Line Standards and according to the latest specifications.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Assist to ensure all assigned equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, resulting in proper functionality
+ Learn about and execute the company's maintenance strategy
+ Comply with Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) standards
+ Support continuous improvement culture and initiatives
+ Support the implementation of reliability practices
+ Learn how to utilize maintenance business systems to track maintenance performance
+ Comply with Service Quality, HSE and IT standards and policies
+ Follow the assigned training program
**Exposures & Experiences:**
+ Technical diploma or certificate in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical and Mechatronics studies
+ Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
+ Electronics or mechanical background coupled with strong analytical skills
+ Ability to learn quickly and translate the learning into practical solutions
+ Strong Commitment to QHSE
+ Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office
+ Ability to work effectively in teams
+ Good interpersonal skills
+ Good communication skills
+ Ability to use own initiative and committed to continuous improvement
+ Ability to follow procedures and understand engineering and/or electrical drawings

Job Title: Quarry Equipment Maintenance Mechanic Location : UgandaBenefits: Housing, Transport, Medical Cover, LeaveJob Summary Our client seeks an experienced Quarry Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to lead and manage the maintenance operations of a busy quarry site, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned mechanical professional with over 10 years of hands-on experience in servicing, repairing, and overhauling quarry machinery in high-output environments (5,000–10,000 tons per day).Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for quarry equipment including drilling rigs, excavators, mobile crushers, wheel loaders, tipper trucks, generators, and related accessories.• Overhaul, repair, and refurbish major components to extend machine life and optimize performance.• Commission new machinery and ensure proper integration into quarry operations.• Maintain organized documentation for all maintenance activities and apply data analysis to drive continuous improvement.Quarry Operations Support • Ensure safe and efficient operation of machinery for drilling, blasting, crushing, loading/offloading, and hauling materials.• Monitor weighing processes and enforce safe haulage practices.• Support production teams in achieving throughput targets while minimizing downtime.Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) • Implement and enforce HSE protocols, including risk assessments, emergency response, incident management, and permit-to-work systems.• Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance and operations teams.Leadership & Team Development • Supervise, mentor, and coach a team of mechanics and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.• Plan, organize, and execute maintenance activities efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met.• Manage maintenance budgets and control costs effectively.RequirementsQualifications & Experience Education & Training • Completed secondary school education.• Certificate or certification in Mechanical, Automotive, or Plant Mechanics from a recognized technical institution or major dealership training school (minimum 3-year apprenticeship program).Experience • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in quarry/mine operations (preferably in a multicultural environment) with high daily throughput (5,000–10,000 tons). • Proven expertise in maintaining and repairing heavy quarry machinery and equipment. • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage a comprehensive maintenance function.
