**Job Overview:**
Participates in the coordination and implementation of the preservation & maintenance requirements during the construction, commissioning and start-up phases on the Tilenga Project in Uganda. Responsible for the execution of the plant preservation and maintenance activities, record keeping, in accordance with the Preservation Plan. Reports to the Preservation & Maintenance Lead.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Coordinates with the Preservation & Maintenance Lead in implementing the preservation program for the equipment in the area under his responsibility
+ Review and understand the Preservation Plan for the project
+ Checks the vendor requirements for preservation and maintenance
+ Checks the preservation requirements for each piece of equipment on the project
+ Supervise the execution of the preservation activities in accordance with the Preservation Plan
+ Provides first line supervision of the technicians carrying out the preservation activities in the area under his responsibility
+ Record the completion of the preservation activities and ensure all records are passed to the Systems Completion team for entry into the database
+ Responsible for the quality of all preservation work performed in the area under his responsibility
+ Responsible to coordinate the safe and effective utilization of all materials, equipment and personnel assigned to the preservation team in the area under his responsibility
+ Work collaboratively within the Project team and with Client to maintain positive relationships
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Possess a technical diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
+ Must have a minimal of 5 years' experience within an organisation (contractor or owner) as a preservation coordinator
+ Have preservation experience on at least 2 major EPC projects in the refinery, oil and gas industry
+ Demonstrate a broad technical knowledge of construction, commissioning and completion activities
+ Knowledge of Systems Completion Database is a plus
+ Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers
+ Must have good computer software skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as a minimum
+ Proficiency in English, Multi-Language skills a plus
+ Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

**Job Overview:**
The primary role for the PTW coordinator is to manage and oversee permit to work system implementation on the project. The job holder ensures that all work activities are conducted safely, in compliance with project HSE requirements. The PTW Coordinator acts as the site custodian of the PTW system and supports training, audits, and incident investigations related to work permits.
**Job Responsibility:**
+ Provide technical assistance on the PTW processes to ensure compliance with project HSE requirements.
+ Coordinate PTW interface and SIMOPS meetings
+ Collate and report PTW-related KPIs weekly to the HSSE function
+ Serve as the site custodian of Permit to Work system
+ Conduct PTW quality surveys and inspections
+ Maintain a daily log of all active and closed Permits to Work.
+ Monitor subcontractor PTW application and compliance.
+ Providing HSE technical assistance to PTW signatories as required.
+ Attend and contribute to toolbox talks, construction meetings, and SIMOPS coordination
+ Maintaining copies of closed permits on file in accordance with McDermott document retention policy. Report any PTW documentation delinquencies to the Issuing/ Permit Authority
+ Maintaining stock of required permit to work forms, applicable certificates, locks, and tags.
+ Verifying that appropriate supplementary certificates are available prior to registering the PTW, updating the PTW coordination board where applicable
+ Support the HSE Training function regarding PTW procedures.
+ Conducting regular PTW sampling checks to verify compliance.
**Experience, Education and Qualifications:**
+ A bachelor's degree in science or engineering or equivalent in HSES related subject.
+ NEBOSH/ OSHA certified is required
+ Certified Membership - Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), NIOSH or equivalent
+ 6+years of relevant experiencein major engineering construction projects, power plants, mining and oil and gas projects
+ Proven experience in PTW management within a construction environment
+ Conversant with local and international HSES laws, codes, and regulations.
+ Ability to build and maintain positive team relationships.
+ Have experience with technical activities.
+ Maintain key competencies associated with the HSES function.
+ Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
